Session Three
- Tiel asks Pan about Elin
- Tiel doesn’t know much; she’s demanding, fussy, came down the Void with a party of four
- Tiel’s brother, Daniel, is the rogue
- There’s also Kestrel, a fighter, and Luis, a caster
- Not sure about Elin’s class or abilities
- Fletcher warns Tiel not to trust Malachi, Pandemonium and Fugue
Undead Druid

- The druid is washed-out, colour drained from her skin; she’s clutching a single purple rose, and seems to be entirely focused on it
- There are other roses growing in the gardens, but they’re overgrown; the druid is tangled in thorny vines
- The rose is a Chromatic Rose, capable of offering protection from poison or an AoE poison attack
- The druid tells us that she’s going to meet with the King next week - the rose is a gift
- She appears to be trapped in some kind of charm/magic effect, where she’s suspended in a moment in time just prior to the Collapse
- After talking with her for a while, the party decides to leave her in peace
- We go herb-hunting in her garden
- Coming back up through the hatch, we roll Con saves against the Void’s downwards force: Fugue fails, and experiences a sharp pulse of pain in his head
Spiderland
- Moving on, we come to a tunnel covered in cobwebs; Pan burns them away, and Fugue pats out the flames as he follows
- As the tunnel opens up, we see a flash of light reflected on the wall, and the distant sound of shattering glass
- The tunnel opens into a clearing, a ledge overlooking a mansion and a cobbled courtyard with arcane lamps illuminating the area; Mal spots some broken glass under one of the mansion windows
- There are two routes down: stairs over a dark pit, or through a further tunnel covered in cobwebs. We go cobwebs.
- After killing three Phase Spiders, Fugue befriends the fourth and she comes with us
Mansion
Exterior & Ground Floor
- The courtyard contains a fountain without water, a couple of gold pieces in the bottom
- Fletcher & Mal sneak up and peer in the window; Fletcher can see shadows moving behind one window, while Mal sees that the other has been broken inwards, suggesting something broke in
- Mal sneaks in for a look around:
- There’s a hidden door behind the bookshelf in the living room
- There is also a bottle of whiskey with a man on fire on the label; Mal pockets this
- The entryway next door has several spiders in it
- There is something big in the ballroom, but Mal can’t get a good look at it - heat haze, something shimmery moving around
- She goes back and gets the others: the plan is to lock the spiders in the entryway, then explore the rest of the mansion and come back to deal with the Big Scary
- In the dining room, we meet another undead, Nina: Nina is a maid, cleaning on repeat as spiders rebuild their webs over and over
- She looks nervous, on the verge of tears, and is muttering to herself: Mistress wasn’t invited and she’ll take it out on me, please don’t tell Lady Camilla, with Lady Kivia out of town-
- She tells us that this house belongs to Camilla, Kivia’s sister-in-law (brother’s wife - Kivia doesn’t have a husband)
- Camilla wanted to go to the Gala because Kivia wasn’t going, and she was avoiding Kivia
- Kivia was out of town that night, putting down revolutionaries in the east of the kingdom

First Floor
Servant’s Quarters

Keep an eye out and your head down, something big is going to happen at the Palace tonight. Your friends, H&E.
- There’s a guy hiding in the servant’s quarters - this is our new best friend Vincent “Vinny” Vin
- After we convince him we’re here for a health inspection, he tells us he’s pretty sure Camilla has made some kind of devil pact - she’s got a blood ritual circle in the basement, which can be accessed using the password All are welcome down where devils dwell
- He thinks Camilla is going to try to kill Kivia, but she hasn’t actually made the attempt yet
- He’s clutching a note, hoping we’ll forget about it; while Fugue, Pan and Mal distract him, Fletcher (invisible) yoinks it out of his hands
- It’s written in Thieves’ Cant
- H & E are Hal and Ellion, members of the Revolution against the King; this is what Kivia was out of town quashing when the Collapse happened
- Camilla was supposed to be invited to the Gala but wasn’t, Vinny doesn’t know why
- Hal and Elian got in because Lady Cordelia du Vorros (the King’s wife)‘s pet painter is part of the Revolution and let them in - Venus & Vesta!
- Vinny said that if we go to the Honeybee, the bar in the north of town, and ask about Venus and Vestra, we’d be able to make contact with them
Master Bedroom
- Lady Camilla, gazing at a portrait; she’s an aasimar woman, not quite as sharp as in the portrait but still beautiful, and visibly undead
- Something has been eating the furniture in here
- The desk is a mimic yaayyy
- The portrait shows Cordelia and Camilla together
- Letter in the desk: Camilla wasn’t invited to the Gala because the King found out about her and Cordelia; Cordelia told her to get out of town, to go to the hot springs to the north and wait for her there
- Camilla starts combat
- Mal attempts to grapple her. Pathetic4pathetic. We both roll sevens, but Cam is able to wriggle free on her turn
- Fletcher chucks a rock at her, which pisses her off; she’s very superior for someone who hasn’t managed to cast a spell yet
- Tiel Hold Persons her
- The mimic attacks Fugue, who casts Spirit Guardians - another W for helpful spells that feel bad
- We kill Camilla and loot her body<3
- She turns into Void Matter - it wriggles through the floorboards with great purpose; Fletcher tries to take a sample of it and it attempts to crawl up her arm, before settling down after a few minutes

Basement
- There’s a summoning rune on the bookshelf - Mal forgot to check for traps<3
- Thankfully, things can’t be summoned inside the Void so Mal gets lucky here
- There’s a big rune circle carved into the floor; judging by the language, it’s meant to be used to summon a devil, and has been used multiple times
- There’s another desk in here, which is also a mimic, starved to death
- It contains paintings and sketches of Cordelia, slightly obsessively, and a little information on her - she’s a silver bloodline sorcerer
- There is also a painting of Kivia, which someone has been using for target practice
Ballroom
- Giant spider
- Fletcher poisons it
- Pan kills it
- The heat-haze is a spiritual/incorporeal knife, stabbing into something
- Pan grabs it and yanks it free; it disappears in their hand
- The thing it’s stabbing into becomes visible. It’s a leg, apparently still functional, with blood vessels and muscles working as normal, apparently unattached
- The leg goes in the bag of holding
Base Camp
- After clearing the mansion, we head for base camp
- On the way we meet a Tabaxi scout, Miette, who takes us the rest of the way
- We also meet Kaylin, the Diver’s Guild’s head researcher
- We made it before the North team yaaay
